For me it will almost double battery life time, in particular if I scale 
the voltage as well. Unfortunately by bios does not list any reduced
voltage modes, but I hacked powernow-k7 a bit to replace 500MHz 1.3V
by 500MHz 1.0V and this works just fine.

Did you try the latest version from
