[ACPI-sppt] Menuconfig Problem !??!

Hi, I am trying to install on a new Laptop, the Toshiba R100, a really sleek machine. BUT: I patched 2.4.21, and in menuconfig after I put a "*" in sront of "ACPI Support", nothing new apprears. in xconfig, there are a lot of interesting options, but they are al shaded. I tried to manually add the releant lines to .config, but all I got was two .o files, (acpi.o and another), both less than 1K and both did not make it accross to /lib/modules during the modules_install bit. Of course the system defaulted to using APM. That was nt the idea. HELP!
