When I suspend my laptop (sleep state 4) with too many programs I get a
messages that all processes entered the refrigirator, freeing memory,
the screen goes blank for about a minute, and then instead of writing
memory to disk I get the message that everything wakes back up, only the
computer isn't functional when it wakes up. num lock/caps lock are
functional. I can change terminals but the keyboard is not functional
(its not a module) and if I switch to the X terminal the computer locks
up.
There are no error messages, just the computer seems to get ready to go
to sleep and the imediatly partialy wakes up.
I am using the suspend script found on the swspnd on sourceforge to
remove modules, services etc. On wake up I get as a last thing a message
that suspesion failed from the script.
It doesn't take a lot of load. Running gnome-multi-terminal, lyx, matlab
and evolution is enough to cause suspention to fail. Removing either
matlab or evolution is enough for the suspention to succeeds.

I am using the acpi patched kernel 2.6.0-test1, although I got the same
behaviour for 2.5.75.
The sleep mode is done through /proc/acpi/sleep, state 4.
Acpi is compiled in (not a module).
12G for Reiserfs file system and 400M swap space.
debian unstable on sony vaio pcg fxa53 (amd mobile athelon xp 1500+)

I tried to free up the swap space (unmount/remount) before suspention
but it didn't help.

I tried to enable debuging messages for acpi but there were no error
messages given or any output to /var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog

out put of free:

Any ideas?
