[ACPI-sppt] "The Burning Athlon" with ATI/ALI chipset H E L P.

I have recently acquired a HP/Compaq nx9005 notebook wich has the 
specifications shown below. I installed suse 8.2 professional, but the 
cpu seems to get very hot and the fan works like crazy!! HELP!!!!

I tried installing (compiling) a new kernel with acpi support, but I 
either get a kernel which does not reboot (hangs out with blank page!!) 
or a working kernel with acpi, but without throttling enabled, which I 
think is very important. Any comments!! do I need to manually set the 
DSDT tables!! and if so any ideas how can I get them...
