This would be the job of the DSDT. One of the things the DSDT should do
is to tell the laptop what to do when the processor gets hot. Depending
on the cooling strategy, slowing down the cpu could be the solution.

Ideally yes. Perhaps weshould all try to write ASUS and see if we could
get them to release a fixed dsdt. I will try to see if I can get in
touch with someone over there (could you try too ?) and then report the
outcome at this mailing list, so that you other guys can tell them that
you are also interested.

However, I think we will get the standard "we don't support linux"
answer - but hey - lets be possitive for a moment and try :-)
