Hello, I am using 2.4.22 on a Samsung VM7000 laptop (Pentium-III 700, Intel 440MX chipset). I need to use "acpi=force" (it complains about ACPI date being from '00 - I have the newest BIOS from Samsung), and "pci=noacpi" (otherwise, cardbus interrupts seem to be missing). So far, this works fine - however, it seems the CPU fan is not controlled anymore: it stays the way (on or off) it was when Linux was started - which means if it was off, the system gets too hot under load. There is no nothin in /proc/acpi/fan or /proc/acpi/thermal_zone. When using APM, the fan is turned on/off as needed. Any idea where I should look, or what other information I should post? cu Michael ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf
