Hi Alex, > One more thing I don't understand is this kernel message: > cpufreq: No CPUs supporting ACPI performance management found. > > #uname -a > Linux berbara 2.6.0-test5-bk1 #3 Thu Sep 11 12:32:55 EST 2003 i686 Mobile > Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 - M CPU 1.80GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux Could you please try this patch: http://www.brodo.de/patches/2003-09-09/acpi-2.6.0-test5_all This patch completely re-works the partly broken ACPI cpufreq support [among other things]. Also, these so-called "Performance States" are a late addition to ACPI and were only introduced in version 2.0. In some BIOSes you can select whether to enable ACPI 2.0. In addition, several BIOSes are broken with regard to ACPI "Performance States". So, if your notebook chipset is from Intel, you might want to try the "speedstep-ich" cpufreq module.
