Hi everybody, I want to install a fixed DSDT I found on the acpi4linux oueb page on my system because I have a very serious problem with my asus L3D serie laptop (the cpu temperature is very hot and after using the machine during four months I had to change its motherboard because of this problem) so I hope installing the fixed DSDT will perhaps solve the problem ? I downloaded the DSDT and compile it with iasl but after that if I have understand well I must patch my kernel inorder to tell him to consider the new DSDT instead of the bios DSDT. but unfortunatly I don't know where to find the file required to patch the kernel or what to change manually in the kernel tree to have the new DSDT considered by the kernel. I search the archives, the howtos, the download section but nothing ! So thanks in advance if you can help me ! tell me too if you think that what I plan to do will not solve my thermal problem ! The last question : the problem is the same using the 2.4 or 2.6 kernel series. what kernel serie do you recommand in order to have the best acpi support ? FYI, the cpu on this machine is an AMD Athlon XP mobile 2000+ and the motherboard comes with an SIS chipset. Thanks in advance for all your help ! -- Nath ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf
