[ACPI-sppt] ACPI broken in 2.4.21, made worse in 2.4.22

Hello,

My ACPI didn't work correctly in 2.4.21 (both vanilla and Mdk custom).
It could power-off, but that was about it. It couldn't detect fans,
sensors, or anything else. As a result, my CPU/powersupply fans ran at
emergency speed all the time under Linux. That was/is the only reason I
keep Windows on my computer, simply because it is annoying as hell to
have the fans blazing away all the time.

I updated to 2.4.22 (Mandrake custom) kernel, and hoped that ACPI would
work for me now. I was disappointed, as the situation is even worse. Now
there is no /dev/acpi folder. I have to manually power off my computer
after halting. I tried going to 2.4.22 (vanilla) kernel, yet, same result.

I have enabled ACPI in the kernel, and all both acpi and acpid are in my
startup routines. My kernel flags have ACPI on. My .config is virtually
the same as my 2.4.21 config. There is no replacement DSDT table on the
ACPI website.

I have a SONY VAIO desktop RX650. My mobo is an Asus P4B266LM. It is
supposedly ACPI 1.0 compliant. If this is any help, my processor is a
1.6Ghz Pentium 4 processor. I am running Mandrake 9.1, but under a
vanilla 2.4.22 kernel. The only patch I have on my kernel is supermount,
but that patch doesn't even remotely affect any ACPI files, so I doubt
there is any correlation at all.

Here are my debug messages related to ACPI:

Any help or information would be appreciated /greatly/.
