Hello, after upgrading the BIOS of my ASUS M2400N to version 0206 in the hope of improving ACPI (before, I appeared to have had the same problems others have reported), Linux with ACPI doesn't boot completely anymore. Windows still boots, so the update was likely successful. This happens both with Linux 2.4.22 with ACPI patch from 20030916 and 2.6.0-test5. On a 2.6.0-test5 build with ACPI-debugging enabled, the last lines of output are (copying this by hand): ACPI Namespace successfully loaded at root c037cffc evxfevnt-0093 [04] acpi_enable : Transition to ACPI mode successful evgpeblk-0748 [06] ev_create_gpe_block : GPE 00 to 31 [_GPE] 4 regs at 000000000000E428 on int ( Completing Region/Field/Buffer initialization: ...... [ 131 dots ] Initialized 30/30 Regions 35/35 Fields 39/39 Buffers 27/27 Packages (1074 nodes) Executing all Device _STA and_INI methods:........ [ 30 dots ] It doesn't appear to make a difference whether I load the custom DSDT (from acpi.sf.net) or not (via initrd-patch). If there's any more info you'd like me to collect, please let me know.
