This indicates you failed to include the pcmcia module when you configured the kernel. Next time you make it, when you do 'make xconfig' be sure to select kernel or module for the pcmcia part. cant tell you off hand where that part is though. If you start with a pre-done config file from the config/ subdirectory, it will probably already include that option on. did you patch the kernel with the ACPI patch?
