[ACPI-sppt] Good sleep etiqette

Does anyone have a good sleep script or recommendations about what I
should shut down before I sleep?

Currently I shut down my PCMCIA slots/cards, and the monitor eventually
goes off from timeout I think.  But my sleep script I am realizing is
rather rude.

In fact if the HD is running, everything gets suspended as is, HD light
still on and all.  So I suspect their is a more polite way of letting
the kernel know we are about to sleep.  Something like a shutdown -sleep
command.

Something to request HD to spindown, and wait till it does before the
sleep starts.

Also, how do I automatically get the 'cardctl resume' command issued
when I wake back up?
