SUMMARY: badblocks(8) while fs mounted

As I understand things, running badblocks(8) by hand isn't dangerous
(unless you do write tests, in which case you will get a warning), but
running e2fsck is.  So:

   badblocks -vs /dev/hda1

is ok, though from cron not having the -s would probably be better.
