SUMMARY: NFS file locking with SuSE 8.2 client

Dear Linux Managers,

Not much to report I'm afraid. I had a reply from Skylar Thompson who
suggested ensuring that lockd was running on the servers (it is). So I'm
still stumped. I don't know whether this is a bug in gconfd or a bug in
NFS, but if you look at the galeon users mailing list you see that
periodically people report similar problems and don't get helpful answers.

So I'm going to abandon Galeon and use Mozilla instead (and I'll keep my
eye on Firebird). I do this with great sadness because I really like
Galeon, but my experience is that the configuration system is not
sufficiently mature for use in an NFS environment.
