posix regex for logtool

Hi all. I am using this program called logtool. I use it to parse syslog data and output it to html format. The piece I'm missing though is the ability to write posix regular expressions. This is how the program parses the logs. Can anyone provide an example posix regex that matches an IP address say 99.99.99.99 for example?
