[SUMMARY] Secondary DNS server update problem

Thanks to all those who replied in no specific order,

   Jason Dixon,
   Luke Rosenthal,
   Martin Schmitt,
   Bishop,
   Christian Hack,
   Sudheesh Krishnankutty,
   Robert Harris.

The problem it seems was a misconfiguration, the secondary server needed to
be setup as a slave to the master. Did that, bounced the named on the
secondary and poof, zone transfers.

Thanks again guys, I've been staring at this for quite some time

Morning All,

   I have the following scenario, primary and secondary DNS server for a
domain, lets call it example.com. I update the primary, and change the
serial number to a higher number. Restart the named on the primary and I can
see it sending the notify's to the secondary but when I check the SOA on the
secondary for the domain I see the old serial number.

   I can ping the secondary and I can connect to the rndc and dns ports.

   Any suggestions? This is driving me around the bend.
