Thanks to all who replied: Herman Verkade Moti Levy Tony Tibbenham Michael Stone Sudheesh Krishnankutty Chris de Vidal chupacabra Jeremy Rodriguez mcarrol Eduardo E. Silva Neil Dombrowski First off, I forgot to include the IP addresses of the two machines in my original message, and I am sorry about that. One webpage that was sent to me by a co-worker was this: http://www.telusplanet.net/public/sparkman/netcalc.htm This was very helpful. What the problem appears to boil down too, is a bad setting in the ifcfg-eth# file. I had the NETWORK value set to the wrong subnet (ie .0 instead of .64) this seems to be why the default gateway was not getting set. -- =========================== Ron Reed RedHat Certified Engineer Unix Systems Administrator ARM SGP CART Site (580)388-4053 [email protected] _______________________________________________ LinuxManagers mailing list - http://www.linuxmanagers.org submissions: LinuxManagers-35TzE1X9F6582KRnZfj+bdi2O/[email protected] subscribe/unsubscribe: http://www.linuxmanagers.org/mailman/listinfo/linuxmanagers
