I'm in real help on some C language matters and Linux. I have installed Red Hat 7.2 succesfully, I succesfully installed Oracle 8.1.7, created databases etc. Everything works fine, in fact a huge project migrated well with more or less no sigficant problems (after lots of Oracle Metalink searches, patch downloads etc) However, I was about to compile an Oracle Pro*C code that works fine on another Unix machine (Tru64). The pre-compilation went fine, the .c file was produced, but once I tried to execute the 'cc -c' comand so that the .o file can be produced, it gives me all kinds of "parse error before" ....errors. If it is of any help, it seems to me that it has something to do with declaration of structures, but I could be mistaken. It seems to me that this an issue on the Linux/C side of the field... Although I work with Oracle for years, I'm a complete idiot on C... So, any help would be GREATLY appreciated, since the whole migration is stuck! What do I have to do? is there a difference in syntax between "regular" C, (ANSI?) and Linux? If anybody decides to help me on this, thanks in advance! __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Find out what made the Top Yahoo!
