Good Evening..... I recently replaced a Solaris 7 box with a Red Hat Enterprise 3 Dell. This machine is an NIS client with a Solaris 9 NIS master. In the past, the encrypted password in /etc/shadow was always 13 characters long. Now, if a user changes their password on the Linux NIS client, the password length is now 35 character long. I don't know if this will present a problem anywhere. Any advise? Thank you as always.
