My ODBC on Linux -How to Configure

Hi all
I have this project that I want to run on linux. Under windows I have 
these instructions.

1.       If you don't have it, install MySQL (download if you want a 
newer version)

2.       Install the ODBC driver for MySQL, note that this is a separate 
installation (and download too)

3.       Install a JDK (although you might have that already if you do 
Java programming)

4.       Install Tomcat (Note: install a JDK before Tomcat!!)

5.       Install the project files by running setup_project.exe

6.       Now configure the driver. Open the ODBC data source 
Administrator, which is located in the control panel  (in Windows 
XP/2000 this is under the Administrative Tools section of Control 
Panel). Select the Add button, a new window opens and there you select 
the MySQL ODBC 3.51 driver from the list (towards the bottom).

7.       Another form pops up and fill this out as follows:
Data Source Name:  MovieDataBase
Database Name: moviedatabase
User and Password can likely be left blank
Press the Test Data Source button.  You should get a "successful" 
response.  If so, close this window.

8.       Start Tomcat (Start menu:  Start -> Programs -> Apache Tomcat)

If all went well, you're in business: 
http://localhost:8080/project/index.jsp 
<http://localhost:8080/cmpe221/index.jsp>

Now for linux I have installed Mysql. JDK and Tomcat and they are 
working fine. But how do i connect the database like in Step 6 for 
windows. It is showing the web page but Ica nnot login as the database 
in not connected to the interface.
I really need help on this.
Any help would be great.
