Apologies for a late summary.
I have only had one reaction from this list suggesting that I should
use Mailscanner.
>From the exiscan mailing list I received a few replies and in the end
I got it working with the following configuration:
av_scanner = cmdline:/usr/local/uvscan/uvscan --noboot -r --secure
--mime %s:\
Found|password-protected:(?::Found |Found::
|is)(password-protected|.+)

[demime 1.01d removed an attachment of type application/pgp-signature which had a name of signature.asc]
