This is actually a known and possible problem. 
It isn't an rpm or synaptic but though, since it's caused by dockyard (the devel 
repository, where devel actually means not tested, then potentially unstable) 
being in a broken state (unmeet dependencies, conflicting files, etc..). 
 
I've also posted a mail on arklinux-list stating that "dockyard" should be used 
with care, limiting the updates to those suggested when closing bug reports, 
etc... 
 
Actually (e.g. now) dockyard should be installable. But this operation (a massive 
upgrade) should be done only if you're testing packages and / or you know how 
to solve dependencies/conflicts by yourself.
