https://bugzilla.arklinux.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=26 ------- Additional Comments From [email protected] 2003-04-30 14:46 ------- I've the same problem, and I see you need more information, but the the other guys don't report more, so I do... I wanted to install a7 on VMWare Workstation 3.2.0 build-2230 the host OS is Windows XP, sorry but, the corporation I work beliefes in M$ :-( Let me descripe my experience with VM and a7: I boot from CD and after a short time there is a screen half black and green, the green one with a mouse pointer in it witch I can't move. The Keyboard is also disabeled. But if I send VMWare into the taskbar and get it back from it I can see clearly the first setup screen. The mouse doesn't work but the keyboard does, as long as I send the VM into taskbar and get it back. So I do: 01. press Space for language choose 02. "taskbar move" (VM into Taskbar and back) 03. 5 times down arrow (German language) and Enter 04. "taskbar move" 05. ALT + W (Next button) to continue installation procedure 06. "taskbar move" 07. second screen, I make a SHIFT+Tab to choose the first installation option (whole harddisk) and Enter 08."taskbar move" 09. see H2O installating packages, it seemed to work fine but I think I better stop playing Tetrix, otherwise I fell addicted to the "taskbar move" It seemed that there is a missing paint event or repaint or something in that way. 10. after rebooting the system I got no running x-server, why? I had to logon in textmode 11. startx ends with fatal IO error 104 Shall I send one of you the XFree86.0.log?
