my ati rage 2 pro agp video card fails to run the proper resolution(s) and depth(s)

any help would be useful, btw, the installation at the end configured the video to a 
resolution, i forget the last but but it was at 1400x resolution, and none of my 
monitors go up to that, they all only go up to 1024x768...
