install hangups

I use a Belkin UPS that talks to the PC through the serial port. For some reason
it would lock-up the video during install. Unplugged it and went on with install
ok. I did have probs with NTFS and preparing the disk with/from WinXP. When I
gave up on that idea and did the system install it was smooth as butter the rest
of the way. I've had some trouble with getting some help screens, but overall
I've had a positive experience with Ark. The default system install was great on
this PC. And I love Synaptic. So far no problems since that silly serial port
issue. My fault, I know.
