https://bugzilla.arklinux.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=302 [email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |NOTABUG ------- Additional Comments From [email protected] 2004-02-16 04:12 ------- This is not a bug, it is a configuration error. Arklinux no longer uses lisa as its network connectivity client. We use samba, this has been fixed for hte alpha 10 and up comming 11 release. All you have to do is edit your network shortcut to have the smb:/ instead of lan:/ as the last argument of the command to run. You will then need to install Ksambaplugin from synaptic which will give you an easy to use kde gui in the kde control panel as well as when you right-click on files and folders. The Network configuration is not automatic. Device detection is. In order to activate a network device you utilize the network configuration tool in arklinux's mission control. That will configure the device so that it actually is on and retrieving the ip and network information. There are new easier to use tools being built for release soon. I hope this answers your question and if you have a need for further information join irc.freenode.net #arklinux or post the mailing group. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee.
