I can't reproduce the bug here, i have the same versions of packages as you and
gimp starts fine.
Which GTK theme are you using? which version of glib?

Also, try to run gimp from commmand line as this:

strace -o gimp-trace.txt /usr/bin/gimp

This will create a file called 'gimp-trace.txt' with debug information, please
attach it here.
