Summary: kernel oops on logout with 2.4.x and recent build of
XFree86.
Product: Ark Linux
Version: Dockyard
Platform: i586 (PC, Intel)
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: High
Affects: Stability
Component: kernel
AssignedTo: [email protected]

First, to begin, I cannot debug this very thoroughly since I haven't a dumb
terminal to attach to the ttyS0 on my system, besides I don't think that Ark
has the "Send Kernel Dump to Serial device" option enabled.
Since a recent update, under KDE, I cannot logout/shut my desktop system down
cleanly. When it attempts to save my session management data and restart X to
get back to KDM, it appears to kernel oops. I'm fairly certain that it _is_
oops-ing since I cannot ssh into the system, I keep getting a connection
refused and I am running sshd in init levels 3 through 5. If there is any data
I can provide, ask.
