Did you try disabling ACPI by following the directions displayed on the opening
boot screen? i.e.  at the   boot:   prompt, type:

inux noacpi acpi=off

BTW, this is not an installer bug.  This is a hardware bug that causes the
installer to fail, or it's corrupt media, one or the other.
