           Summary: Parallel Installation Problem
           Product: Ark Linux
           Version: 1.0 alpha12
          Platform: i586 (PC, Intel)
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
           Affects: Overall Usability
         Component: arkinstall
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]
         QAContact: [email protected]

Description of Problem: When I Select "Parallel Installation" From The Menu
Everything Freezes and The Background of The Installation Screen Shows a
Message in the middle of the screen.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): ARK Linux H2O
(1.0-0.alpha12-1) 0.alpha12 Hor...( The Screen Cuts Off The Rest Of This)

How Reproducible:HIGHLY

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Repeated install attempts to NTFS-formatted drive

2.I Formated The Drive With Partition Magic 8 From NTFS to FAT-32 then
repeated install attempts to the FAT-32 formatted drive

3.Repeated Steps 1 & 2 on a secondary hard drive.

Actual Results: Same Hang-up Every Time

Expected Results: For Parallel Installation To Work With Either Drive.

Additional Information: 1. When The Installation Hangs-Up The Screen Shows
This Command String:

mtrr: base(0xe0000000) is not aligned on a size(0x0000) boundary
Creating mouse: Auto
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k char-major-4, errno = 2
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k char-major-4, errno = 2

installer xi ed.
installer failed (exited on signal): 0

2. I Can Only Get Ark Linux To Install When I Have It Installed as the Main OS
and at the ARK Linux Boot Menu I'm Told To Select The O/S I Wish To Boot, In
The Menu My Choices are ARK Linux Then Windows 9x/2k and The Windows Selection
is Listed Several Times. The ARK Linux Choice Boots Up With No Problem But
When I Choose One of The Windows Choices The Screen Begins The A Boot Up
Sequence but Freezes 3 seconds afterwards. So I Basically Can't Boot My
Windows XP Without Makeing The Partition That Holds The WinXP O/S Files The
Primary Partition Through The Partition Magic-Like Program In ARK Linux.

3. I Have Read The Solution That Was Posted in BUG # 282 But I'm Still Having
The Same Problem.
