ide-scsi is obsolete and should never be used.
Our "version of cdrecord" is actually dvdrecord, which supports writing to
DVD-Rs and DVD-RWs as well; it uses a slightly different syntax.
Try

dvdrecord dev=ATAPI -scanbus

and then e.g.

dvdrecord dev=ATAPI:0,0,0 speed=500 blank=fast -eject -v arklinux.iso
