A BUGNOTE has been added to this bug. ====================================================================== http://www.arklinux.org/mantis/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000006 ====================================================================== Reported By: Lautlos Assigned To: bero ====================================================================== Project: ArkLinux Bug ID: 6 Category: Useability Reproducibility: always Severity: trivial Priority: normal Status: feedback Component: Mission Control Component Version: head ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 02-01-2005 17:00 CST Last Modified: 02-02-2005 20:30 CST ====================================================================== Summary: not connecting to network on startup Description: Configured eth0 using ArkControllCenter (DHCP). Works fine. On startup no network reachable. Have to enter ArkControllCenter again, go to TCP/IP-Konfiguration leave to get connected. ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bero - 02-01-2005 17:31 CST ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Not reproducable here, what does your /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 say? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cirnath - 02-02-2005 07:44 CST ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Make sure that when you go into the config utility, that you check the checkbox/radio button that says 'Activate interface on bootup'. Also verify that /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 contains the line: ONBOOT='yes' ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Lautlos - 02-02-2005 14:46 CST ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi, checkbox is checked. Here is: # more /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 DNS1='0.0.0.0' BOOTPROTO='dhcp' DEVICE='eth0' ONBOOT='yes' AUTOUPDATE='no' DEFROUTE='yes' On startup (when pressing F2) there is an error when trying to start eth0. Where is this output saved? After startup, there is only lo and sit0, no eth0. Entering and leaving Mission Controll solves it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Admin - 02-02-2005 20:30 CST ---------------------------------------------------------------------- What kernel version are you using ? If It is 2.6.10-2ark then that is the problem. uname -a <- will get you the kernel name and version. I have a similar problem on kernel 2.6.10 as well as problems with usb even though bero refuses to acknowledege it. If Im not mistaken my ethernet card would come up and then have 100% packet lose trying to pull and ip from the dhcp server, and its obviously not a problem with the card since if it where I would not be typing this bug note, as is the same with usb keyboards and mice.
