The following bug has been RESOLVED. ====================================================================== http://www.arklinux.org/mantis/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0000008 ====================================================================== Reported By: Anonymous Assigned To: bero ====================================================================== Project: ArkLinux Bug ID: 8 Category: Compatibility Reproducibility: always Severity: minor Priority: normal Status: resolved Component: <component> Component Version: <component version> Resolution: fixed ====================================================================== Date Submitted: 02-04-2005 17:24 CST Last Modified: 02-04-2005 19:10 CST ====================================================================== Summary: Can't upgrade Xorg-mesa-devel Description: I recieve the following error when attempting to upgrade xorg-mesa-devel: file /usr/include/GL from install of xorg-Mesa-devel-6.8.2-0.20050125.1ark conflicts with file from package freeglut-devel-2.2.0-2ark I had to remove the package from my attempted dist-upgrade before I could complete it. I have managed to upgrade the rest of the sys, but still cannot upgrade that package ====================================================================== ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anonymous - 02-04-2005 17:26 CST ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry...I failed to mention that I'm running the devel tree ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bero - 02-04-2005 19:10 CST ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This was a prereq chain issue in the old freeglut-devel (freeglut-devel has to Pre-require and not just require xorg-Mesa-devel; if freeglut-devel is installed first, /usr/include/GL will be created as a directory rather than a symlink). This is fixed in the current version; unfortunately it is unfixable for old installations (except the way you did -- remove the old packages and install the new ones).
