I have a problem with installation of arklinux (1.0-0.alpha12.2). after language selection and installation type selecion I always get this error message: Can`t have overlaping partitions A bug has been detected in GNU parted. Without this we cannot help you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bero - 02-04-2005 17:20 CST ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Where did you download it? parted 1.6.12 is known broken, and definitely not used in alpha12.2 (it was used in a pre-release testing version of alpha12.2 though). Looks like your mirror is largely out of sync. Please download from either the Oregonstate or the Ibiblio mirror, we can sync those ourselves so we're fairly sure they're ok. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- no4 - 02-05-2005 05:56 CST ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thanks for answer. I tried to use a harddisk with no partitions and a harddisk with one FAT32 active partition from 0.03MB (0.0307617) to 14.65GB (14998,2) and with unpartitioned space from 14.65GB (14998.2) to 18.65GB (19092.9) . I tried an installation type which deletes all partitions and an installation type which use only unpartitioned space. I have downloaded it from http://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/arklinux/1.0-0.alpha12.2/iso/ or http://www.fhh.opensource-mirror.de/arklinux.org , I dont know exactly, I´m sorry. parted-1.6.12-1 is in RPMS directory, so I think it is really used in installation process. Please re dowload from ibiblio or oregon state. Parted 1.6.12-1 IS BROKEN, if it is in the rpms directory of the cd then you have an out of date iso.
