Hello all:
I just came across this cutting edge KDE Synaptic replacement on the apt-rpm 
list. Being KDE focused, I would recommend that we move the distribution to 
this Synaptic replacement. There are some compile bugs in the program due 
differeing QT versions etc. at the momemt but I feel it is worth the effort 
to switch ARK to kynaptic as the main apt gui.

No, it's not. You probably just hit some concurrent anonymous logins limit.
Maybe your ftp client got confused.
