Yes, spamassassing simply doesn't catch everything :(
It usually catches around 60 spams intended for our various lists per day, but 
still some crap gets through.
This needs a real world solution rather than more filtering -- let spammers 
rot in prison forever.

Why? I haven't installed my main box (running dockyard-devel) from scratch for 
3 years, you can update with apt-get just fine...
Just make sure your apt configs point at dockyard-devel (e.g. by installing 
the new apt-config package from dockyard-devel, or by replacing every 
occurrence of "dockyard" with "dockyard-devel" in /etc/apt/sources.list if 
you're using an older apt config).

The only reason at all to use new ISOs is to test installer changes.
