upgraded to devel

I've recently upgraded to the development tree, and here are some problems 
i've noticed as a result:

dvdrecord/cdrecord fails, probably as a result of the 2.6 kernel.  I managed 
to use cdrdao to burn a vcd (from the command line) but clearly cd/dvdrecord 
should be fixed or k3b wont work

i've got mutliple users set up on this system, and sound automatically shows 
up as not working.  basically because permissions in /dev for all audio 
devices are reset to root for every reboot. this is also true for video 
devices.  perhaps a step should be taken to make sure all desktop users have 
access to those files, perhaps by assigning a certain group, if not users, 
then create a group called desktop or something.
