Hmm I see you changed your host name, you might try opening /etc/hosts as
root and adding in the following line

127.0.0.1 sting sting.localdomain

Save that.

It looks like tis finding your card and loading the drivers. so something is
certainly amuck with the configuration.

Can you post waht ifcfg eth0 outputs for me as well, so we can see if the
ethernet card is being told to pickup an ip.
