Database

Hey guys, Im trying to login to the database server via ssh, to install the 
database. But I can't seem to get in to the server. The connection times out. 
Is there a certain way I am supposed t o manage the mysql database other then 
ssh. I have an updated back up of the database on the arlinux.org server 
in /var/www/www.arklinux.org/geeklog/backups

The backups should be ordered by date, and the site has been takin offline.
