Hey hey,
here's my latest track, a bit of melodious, dramatic electronica and my part of DID (see below):

Musically, I took a spoonful of baroque choral, a cup or three of drama, a good seasoning of desperation, all mixed with intricate grooves. For good measure, I added my favourite topping of a key modulation. Bon appetit! -- The musical inspiration was born from a song by Glasys called Unwinder:

which is, musically and harmonically speaking, far more sophisticated. But you can hear an echo of his main rhythm and the attitude of the arpeggio-led section.

Technically, on the Linux side we hear Yoshimi with sweeping pads and the vocal lead. Most of the magic, however, is happening on the analogue side: Behringer RD-8 on drums, Behringer Neutron on more paraphonic pads, the Arturia MiniBrute 2S on arpeggio duty and sawtooth lead (I think). The Make Noise 0-Coast cuts the bass. The main arpeggio/lead is patched together of Neutron, MiniBrute and 0-Coast as one instrument. There is no phaser or modulation effect on that, just reverb and delay. This patching idea was another motivation to write and record the song. All of these instrument are semi-modular and consequently able to work as one system.

As teased above, this also marks my little contribution to DID (Digital Independence Day) #DIDit - or for Germans "Digitaler Unabhängigkeitstag" #DUTgemacht. Every first Sunday of the month, we are invited to substitute our commercial online services with - or add to them - an open or smaller local service. From YouTube to PeerTube, from WhatsApp to Signal, from Amazon to Jones' Books. :) Often we can't do without some of the big commercial plattforms, but it's easy to add another one. Some even offer to play with the big ones (sync, mirror, connect, ...). Wanna give it a go? Everyone's invited! :) Read more:
