Hi Jeanette,

I saved Leviathan in WAVe format instead of MP3.  Which goes to show you
how much I liked Leviathan.

I am too left-brain centered to get/understand poetry or prose.  I always
prefer ballads.

The music, however, got me riding along in the wave.  And if you are going
to spend a month working on a creation, then it's time to clue you in on
the Ancient Greeks and their take on music.  (If you haven't already found
out about the Ancient Greeks, that is.)

To the Ancient Greeks, music was not art.  Music was science, with specific
rules to create and elicit a desired reaction in the listener.  Music was
'cook-book' engineering.  Follow the recipe and get the desired result.  To
the Ancient Greeks, a defendant saying 'the music made me do it' was an
acceptable defense and the performer could be the one in jeopardy.

I think you will like what you will get from it.


I never liked the first Rap music.  After reading Quintilianus, I realized
that the first Rap music fit the formula for War Cant:  3 notes or less,
heavily syncopated, and angry lyrics.
