Connect the HDMI monitor 3. Run zita-j2a -d hw:0,3 -j HDMI -p 4096 -v in a terminal. 4. Send some signal to the HDMI:Playback ports. I'd expect this to work even if the HDMI monitor is not selected by xrandr. If things work you can remove the -v and maybe decrease -p. I don't have an HDMI monitor with audio here, so can't tell if this works. But I use the same method to switch between sound cards. I use zita-mu1 to switch between outputs, all apps connect to it instead of to System:* Ciao, -- FA
