I join my vote to Ingo's.

I had already thought of proposing the same, (aide), as I believe it's 
ESSENTIAL and I thought that tripwire source was still not available.

Nevertheless, tripwire is on RH9 SRPMS, and on a few sparc distributions 
( PLD among others, check rpmfind.net).

Having said this, I will still use aide, even if I have to compile it 
myself (again) [as in configure;make;make install; duh!].

ps: there was a time when tripwire SRPM was not available, and only i386 
binaries existed - aide is identical, except it does not guard against db 
modification.
