Usually freezes at about the "Freeing unused kernel memory" line.
Varies, sometimes gets all the way through running all the init
scripts and maybe a few minutes of real runtime.

This is with the kernel from the corona tree (kernel-smp-2.4.20-3.4), but
behavior is the same with the aurora-1.0 kernel.

stop-p shows nothing.
stop-a doesn't even work at this point - seems to be wedged solid.

If I could get more I'd hook it up via serial console and cut & paste
the traceback.

Using a 2.4.22-pre3 kernel (I used aurora's .config as a starting point,
just chopped out some modules mainly) is about the same - boots all/most of
the way through the init stuff, then gets wedged.  Again no stop-p or
stop-a, only power cycling helps.

This figures! Just now to test again, I booted the aurora-1.0 smp kernel
and it came up fine.  Got my X desktop up and everything - it will probably
freeze the instant I send this email...
