I didn't hear back from anyone on the user list so thought I would post it
to this list and see if there was any recommendation.

Subject: [Aurora-sparc-user] Problem booting up

All,
I have successfully installed and been running auroralinux 1.0
since the past few months. However due to a power glitch my system was
restarted and now it won't come up. I get a kernel panic. I see the
following errors on the screen -

esp0: Disconnect amidst phases, pphase<CLUELESS> cpahseMMSGINDONE>, device
is bolixed
Loading jbd module
Journalled Block Device driver loaded
Loading ext3 module
Mounting /proc filesystem
Creating root device
Mounting root filesystem
kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds
EXT3-fs: corrupt root inode, run e2fsck
mount: error 22 mounting ext3
pivotroot: pivot_root(/sysroot,/sysroot/initrd) failed: 2
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing int= option to kernel.
Press L1-A to return to boot prom.

I have a dual processor ultra2. The root filesystem is mounted on the
second disk.

I have used the cd to boot in rescue mode and run e2fsck on /dev/sdb1 (the
partition that gives an error even when booting up in rescue mode) and it
tried to fix the first inode but still no luck.

Any suggestions? I don't have a backup ;) so wanted to know if it is
possible to recover the data.

Thanks

- Rajiv
