Hmm rpm -qa | grep python what shows for you ?

	I remember error like you got when you miss few other python modules like
libxml2-python plus libxslt-python.

rpm -qa | grep python
libxml2-python-2.6.8-1
rpm-python-4.3.1-0.3
rpm-python-4.3-0.22sparc3
python-2.3.3-1

[root@sun root]# rpm -qa | grep yum
yum-2.0.4-5

[root@sun root]# yum -y update
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: Fedora Core 1.91 - sparc - Base
Server: Fedora Core 1.91 - Updates
Finding updated packages
Downloading needed headers

Works herer.
