GCC problem, take two

Hi all,

seemingly, the gcc vs. mutt problem bit me again... :-(

I'm now trying to compile mutt 1.4 on my SparcStation 20 SMP (2xSM61),
running Aurora 1.0 (upgraded from 0.4).
Again, when running 'rpm -ba mutt.spec', gcc craps out at sha1.c:

That was the first time round. On the console, I got a message: "Out
of Memory: Killed process 7015 (cc1)"


I then went into /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/mutt-.... and re-ran make to
check whether it would happen again. This time round, when gcc got to
sha1, the SS20 simply became *so* sluggish that it didn't respond
anymore - console login didn't work anymore. I had to hit Stop-A.

The source I'm using for mutt is the original tarball plus the
compressed folder patch - nothing else applied.

BTW: gcc-sparc32 is not installed on that box - should it be?
