Yes.  For reasons unknown to mankind, the sparc64 compiler does not like
SHA. Install gcc-sparc32, and wrap all calls used for compiling in
"sparc32".

Maybe this ought to be part of the FAQ, since only fresh installs of
1.0 (and successors, if there are any ;) will not show this behaviour.
