Well, my guess: Those libs are installed as 32bit and you're probably
trying to compile 64 bit (or did you use the "sparc32" warpper) - in
which case those libraries (i.e. the 64bit versions) are indeed not
installed.

At least that's how I understand the problem - I got bitten by similar
thinfs on my U5.
