RE: Aurora Linux success?

The high ratio of questions to answers is exactly why I figured I'd fire it
off to the lists again.  I saw all of the various posts regarding alignment
problems both for Snort as well as other apps, but the only real response I
found was "I think we fixed that in 1.9.1."  Well, if it is indeed the same
problem, it's not fixed.  Another response I found mentioned something about
a SPARC_TWIDDLE def in the configure script, but that didn't do any good
either.  The newest stable packing of Snort past 1.9.1 (even though it's
only a few weeks old) also requires AutoMake 1.6 which I can't find for
Aurora yet.  I'm not comfortable enough with Aurora yet to plow through
compiling AutoMake while 1.4 & 1.5 are on the system as well.

This looks strangely familiar. I think this was discussed on this list
before (or on aurora-user). We agreed that there was an alignment error
here, but I do not remember if we came up with a solution.

I think the short version is: this is not Aurora's fault.
